👑 Who is Shri Neminath Bhagwan?
Bhagwan Neminath (also called Arishtanemi) is the twenty-second Tirthankar of the current time-cycle. He was born in Shauripur to King Samudravijaya and Queen Shivadevi of the Yadava clan, and was a cousin of Shri Krishna. He is depicted with a dark complexion, and his emblem (lanchhan) is the conch (shankh). He attained moksha on Mount Girnar — one of the few Tirthankars who did not attain nirvana on Sammet Shikhar.
Neminath is beloved as the Baal Brahmachari — the lifelong celibate. According to tradition, on his way to his wedding with princess Rajul (Rajimati), He heard the cries of animals penned up for the wedding feast. Moved to infinite compassion, He turned back, set the animals free, renounced the world and went to Girnar to seek liberation.
