Bhagwan Sumatinath is the fifth Tirthankar of the current time-cycle. He was born in Ayodhya to King Megharatha and Queen Sumangala, in the ancient Ikshvaku dynasty. He is depicted with a golden complexion, and his emblem (lanchhan) is the krauncha bird (heron). He attained moksha at Sammet Shikhar (Shikharji).
