Meaning in English
I bow to Lord Parshwanath, who is attended by the distress removing Parshwa deity, who is free from all types of Karma, who is the destroyer of the poisonous defilements and who is the abode of bliss and well being.
If one always holds in his neck the charm of Visaharfulling, his evil planetary effects, disease, epidemics and acute fever are calmed down. There is an 18 letter Visaharfulling Mantra associated with the name of Pärshwanäth, which is considered effective against all types of pain and affliction. The Mantra is: Namiuna Päsa Visahara Vasaha Jina Fullinga.
Let aside that charm, obeisance to you also would be highly fruitful; (thereby) humans and animals too would not get misery or evil state. The darkness disappears with the rise of the sun. But prior to sunrise there is the twilight of the morning, which removes the darkness of the night. Similarly, the above said Mantra would, no doubt, remove the pain and distress, but even the obeisance to the Lord can avert such affliction.
By gaining the right perception laid by you, which is superior to the desire yielding jewel and the desire yielding tree, souls easily attain the unaging, immortal state.Oh. Highly esteemable Lord, I have thus prayed to you with the heart flowing with devotion; hence Omniscient Parshwa Lord, bestow the wisdom to me in every life.
It is however important to remember that Mantra is expression of devotion to heavenly beings and Yaksha and Yakshini only. They are not liberated and thus are able to bring forth the beneficial results of Mantra.
Uvasagga-haram Sutra is a devotional Sutra dedicated to Shree Parshva Nath Bhagawan. Recitation of this Sutra brings forth the desired beneficial results (as stated before) as it pleases Parshva Yaksha due to his deep devotion to Parshva Nath Bhagawan.

General Meaning:
Bhadrabahu Swami's brother Varahmihir was also a Jain monk. But for some reason he renounced monk-hood and started to make a living as a fortune-teller. Once he wrongly forecast the lifespan of a prince and as a result, the king sentenced him to death. After his death, he was born as a Vyantar Dev. He then spread the epidemic of plague (a fatal infectious disease) in the Jain Sangh. acharya Bhadrabahu Swami then composed Uvasagga-haram Sutra and taught it to the people. It is said that continuous recitation of Uvasagga-haram Sutra eradicated the epidemic of plague.
Parshva Yaksha is the caretaker Yaksha of Tirthankar Bhagawan Shree Parshva Nath. When a “Tirthankar Bhagawan-to-be” attains Kevaljnan, Shakrendra, the supreme Deva of Saudharma Devaloka, due to his deep devotion to Him, assigns a dedicated Yaksha at His service.
'Visahara Fulinga' Mantra is as follows:
'Namiuna Pas Visahara Vasaha Jin Fulinga'
This Mantra is also recited by adding certain other holly words such as the following version composed by renowned acharya Shree Mantung Suri
'Om Rhim Shreem Arham Namiuna Pas Visahara Vasaha Jina Fuling Rhim Namaha'
Jain Karma philosophy states that one has to suffer the resultant effects of one's own Karma or eradicate those Karmas by internal austerities.
Tirthankar Bhagawan are Vitaragi and hence do not help anyone directly. Then the obvious question is how recitation of this or any other Mantra will be of help.
Let us now consider the importance of Mantra. As you know, agams are compiled from the sermons of Bhagawan Shree Mahavir Swami. The last agam, which is now considered to be completely lost, is known as Drashtivada. Fourteen Purvas are parts of this agam. Fourteen Purvas clearly mention the importance of Mantra.
Recitation of Mantra for worldly gains and benefits is prohibited. However, if a Mantra is recited with devotion and faith to alleviate sufferings of other people, to eradicate natural calamities, or for the protection of Jain temples, Jain religion and Sangh, it will definitely eliminate these misfortunes.
